About Binu and Aleysa
"I've been told and I believe that life is meant for livin' - and even when my chips are low there's still some left for givin'"
-- Frank Sinatra, Cycles
Few words could more accurately describe Binu and Aleysa. They lived life wonderfully and enjoyed nearly every minute of it. During their times of misfortune, there was no self pity or dwelling on what could have been; only a strong determination to overcome the obstacle before them. Whenever a friend needed support or comfort Binu and Aleysa were the first to help in any way needed with that same determined conviction. They didn't offer their support, they simply gave it - without hesitation, without expectation of anything in return. Friends always knew who to call first regardless of the situation, and that call never went unanswered.
In the early morning hours of September 24, 2011, while driving home to Pueblo from Denver, their vehicle was struck head on by a drunk driver traveling the wrong direction on I-25, killing them instantly. In that moment, many people lost a son and a daughter, a brother and a sister, a mentor, a confidant, an irreplaceable piece of themselves. As friends and family who knew the couple well, we will strive to make sure the world realizes the gift we were able to enjoy all too briefly, and that their legacy of loving friends, family, and life in general lives on in their memory.
